Looking to buy a 50' Plasma TV, 1080p. Is Panasonic a better quality as it is more expensive?

Dec 18, 2007 by melinda_pagel | Posted in TVs

Noticed that Panasonic tends to be the most expensive. Is the quality higher with a Panasonic? Are there other brands that are high-quality but less expensive? Thanks.

Actually Pioneer is arguably the best maker of plasma HDTVs with the deepest richest blacks and nearly 3-dimensional detail. But their 50-inch 1080p model lists for $5,000 (street price around $3800). Panasonic is an excellent lower cost alternative

SAMSUNG PN50C530 Review by shirley brown (USA) 2010-05-21
I found this TV thru Consumer Reports. It was one of the best TV's in my budget and it was highly recommended by this magazine. I couldn't find the TV in stores though. The Samsung website had the TV listed for a much highter price than the magazine listed. Amazon was the only place to find this TV at the price that I was looking for. I've never or...

The picture quality is beautiful. The shipping was so fast. The only thing that I don't like is the sound quality, its not very good. It's loud enough but it's really weird sounding. I was watching School of Rock and the when theres a scene with music it's really muted in the backround. I was waiting to see for myself how the sound is before I purc...   Read more Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch reviews Review by Marianna T. Marshall (Libertyville, IL) 2010-07-21
I love this TV! The picture is awesome, the TV itself is attractive, and the price on Amazon was great. I still can't believe how thin this TV is. I vacillated between this one (the 8000) and the 7000, but decided on the 8000 because it can adjust the picture to the light in the room (this can be turned off). Delivery was free, and the driver br...   Read more Samsung UN46C8000 46-Inch reviews Review by Keith Womack (Seattle, WA) 2010-07-06...
