will using hdmi-DVI cable make any difference in clarity/resolution for using my 42" hdtv as a pc monitor?

i want to use my 720p hdtv 42 inch as my pc monitor. right now i use an "S VIDEO" cable, but i want to know if i use an HDMI- DVI cable, will it improve resolution at all?
